Engine air filter
This one keeps dust and grit out of your engine. Gravel driveways and dirt roads off the main highways clog it faster than city driving does. Many manufacturers call for a new one every 15,000 to 30,000 miles; we'll pull yours and show you whether it's actually dirty.
Cabin air filter
That's the filter for the air coming out of your vents. A musty smell when the AC kicks on, or weak airflow on high, usually means it's due. Spring pollen in the Smokies turns these yellow in a hurry.
Wiper blades
If the blades streak, chatter across the glass, or skip the same strip every time, the rubber is worn out. Sun is as hard on them as rain, and most blades last six months to a year. Mountain storms come up fast, so it's worth fixing before you need them.
Questions we get
Straight answers
How often should I change my cabin air filter?
Many manufacturers say every 15,000 to 25,000 miles, or about once a year. If you drive gravel roads or have allergies, sooner is better.
Can you replace wiper blades during an oil change?
Yes. It takes a few minutes, so add it when you book.
